TYRIOS makes EU guarantee label easy

From manual effort to simple configuration in TYRIOSEU Directive 2024/825: Meeting the new labelling requirements from 2026 onwards

From 27 September 2026, the new EU Directive 2024/825 (‘Empowerment for the Green Transition’) will come into force without a transition period. At first glance, this means a massive wave of new red tape for online retailers: mandatory warranty information at checkout, and harmonised EU warranty labels for products with a manufacturer’s warranty. Even though the Directive does not state this explicitly, it goes without saying that all this must be presented in an accessible format and implemented in a way that is compatible with screen readers. And this applies to every target language of your online shop.

Anyone wishing to handle this manually faces a huge amount of work involving legal advice, graphic design, web development and translation coordination.

The good news is that with TYRIOS, this complex EU requirement isn’t a hurdle, but a matter of just a few seconds.

Background: What is EU Directive 2024/825 about?

The European Union requires online retailers to provide greater transparency regarding consumer protection and consumer rights:

  1. Harmonised warranty notice: Customers must be informed clearly and comprehensibly about their statutory warranty rights during the checkout process – and this must be in their respective national language.

  2. Harmonised warranty labels (GARAN): If a manufacturer offers a free warranty lasting more than two years, this must be highlighted by a standardised, visual EU label – including direct access to the detailed warranty terms and conditions.

  3. Accessibility (Accessibility Enhancement Act): All information must be fully accessible to screen readers and navigable via keyboard.

The problem in practice: why manual implementation is a nightmare

Without a flexible e-commerce platform, the compliance requirements entail an enormous amount of work:

  • Managing 24 languages: Texts must be legally accurate translations for all target markets and dynamically delivered according to browser language or country of delivery.

  • Graphic chaos: For every product with a manufacturer’s warranty, separate badges and detailed visuals would need to be created, maintained and manually replaced whenever changes are made.

  • Technical risk: If a notice is missing or isn’t accessible, you risk receiving warnings and fines.

TYRIOS makes it easy: fully automated, accessible and ready to use in seconds

TYRIOS takes the entire technical and design burden off your hands. Instead of writing code or commissioning graphic designers, you simply use straightforward configuration options:

1. The statutory warranty notice at checkout

Activation via a toggle:

A simple click on ‘Is an EU-based company’ in the system configuration is all it takes. TYRIOS automatically places the legally required notice in the correct position within the checkout process. We’ve already done this for you across all existing systems.

  • 24 languages including fallback: TYRIOS comes with legally valid translations already included. The platform recognises your customer’s language and displays the appropriate text – without the need for manual translation management.

  • Includes accessible implementation: Accessibility has been a key feature of TYRIOS for many years. This naturally also applies to the warranty notice. We have structured all data in such a way that it can be accessed by a screen reader, making it accessible to blind people and those with disabilities.

2. Dynamic GARAN labels without the need for graphics

Data fields instead of image editing:

If a manufacturer offers a warranty, simply enter the key details (e.g. duration and warranty provider) in the ‘Warranty’ tab of the product editor.

  • Automatic badge & details panel: TYRIOS generates the standard-compliant GARAN label and the interactive details panel fully automatically.

  • Real-time updates: If any details change, TYRIOS immediately updates the display in the shop, ensuring consistency across all product pages.

3. Accessibility at the touch of a button

TYRIOS handles technical accessibility in the background:

  • ARIA compatibility for screen readers.

  • PDF alternatives for warranty terms and conditions.

  • Clear focus states for accessible keyboard navigation.

(Your corporate due diligence is therefore limited solely to ensuring the accuracy of the content of the manufacturer-specific warranty terms – TYRIOS takes care of the technical presentation for you.)

Conclusion: Relaxed compliance from 2026 onwards

Whilst other online shops spend weeks coordinating designers, developers and translators, in TYRIOS you simply activate the relevant function and sit back[cite: 1, 2].

This is how TYRIOS transforms a bureaucratic requirement into an effortless background feature that keeps your shop secure, modern and EU-compliant.
