The legal protection of your website
To make your website legally watertight, there are still a few steps to take. The following applies: Corporate internet presences and private sites that earn money must take care to maintain a certain form and appear legally correct. There are enough lawyers whose business model consists of issuing warnings to operators of websites that do not fully comply with legal standards. This quickly involves four-digit euro amounts, in extreme cases even up to 50,000 €. This does not apply to truly private and family websites, where, for example, holiday photos are posted.
Competent legal assistance

The imprint
An imprint is absolutely necessary and quite easy to create. Users should know who they are dealing with. The imprint must contain the following information:

General Terms and Conditions (GTC)
This is where the greatest potential danger lurks and a warning can be very expensive. We recommend that you get professional protection, as described above. A law firm specialising in this area will effectively protect you from unpleasant surprises and ensure that your legally relevant texts are safe.

DSGVO (General Data Protection Regulation)
The DSGVO is a European directive and has been in force in its current form since 2018. In a nutshell, it means that every website operator is obliged to implement the DSGVO accordingly and to ensure data protection on their own website. Here you are also covered by the all-round protection already mentioned.
To understand: the DSGVO is essentially about the following points:

The pop-up cookie banner
This is enormously important. If the banner is not present, this can result in a very expensive warning. We will of course ensure that a legally compliant cookie banner appears on your website as soon as users click in.

It cannot be repeated often enough: The following applies to all of the above topics: As a website operator, be vigilant and keep up to date with crucial rule changes. The costs for permanent professional help are really low. Even the most harmless warning letter will cost you more than the corresponding legal protection over several years.
