How to create imprint, GTC & DSGVO

The legal protection of your website

To make your website legally watertight, there are still a few steps to take. The following applies: Corporate internet presences and private sites that earn money must take care to maintain a certain form and appear legally correct. There are enough lawyers whose business model consists of issuing warnings to operators of websites that do not fully comply with legal standards. This quickly involves four-digit euro amounts, in extreme cases even up to 50,000 €. This does not apply to truly private and family websites, where, for example, holiday photos are posted.

Competent legal assistance

As a website operator, you are well advised to seek help from professionals. There are law firms that specialise in the subject and offer legal advice in the form of packages at flat rates. This is a cheap solution, which we also use, by the way.

We strongly recommend that you have your legal texts prepared by a professional. Our partner IT-Kanzlei in Munich creates legally compliant texts based on your information and informs you in good time if changes are necessary.

Information and prices for the services can be found here:

The imprint

An imprint is absolutely necessary and quite easy to create. Users should know who they are dealing with. The imprint must contain the following information:

Mandatory information for every website operator:

Page operator

Surname and first name of the site operator

> Address of the website operator
> Contact details of the site operator: e-mail address and telephone number

Demo Title

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit. Dolorem impedit, mollitia necessitatibus nulla quam unde velit veniam.

Additional mandatory information on company pages:

The legal form of the legal entity (GmbH, GbR...)

Who represents the company?

Demo Title

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit. Dolorem impedit, mollitia necessitatibus nulla quam unde velit veniam.

Register entry, if available

VAT ID, if available

Demo Title

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit. Dolorem impedit, mollitia necessitatibus nulla quam unde velit veniam.

General Terms and Conditions (GTC)

This is where the greatest potential danger lurks and a warning can be very expensive. We recommend that you get professional protection, as described above. A law firm specialising in this area will effectively protect you from unpleasant surprises and ensure that your legally relevant texts are safe.

DSGVO (General Data Protection Regulation)

The DSGVO is a European directive and has been in force in its current form since 2018. In a nutshell, it means that every website operator is obliged to implement the DSGVO accordingly and to ensure data protection on their own website. Here you are also covered by the all-round protection already mentioned.

To understand: the DSGVO is essentially about the following points:

  1. Technical data protection must be guaranteed.

  2. The imprint must comply with the regulations.

  3. Right of withdrawal and privacy policy must be on the website.

  4. A notice on the use of cookies must appear clearly visible (usually this is done as a pop-up).

  5. The contact form and the sending of the newsletter must comply with the regulations.

  6. Tracking tools must be integrated in accordance with the regulations.

  7. Ensure data protection for integrated social media plug-ins and videos.

  8. Order processing must comply with regulations

The pop-up cookie banner

This is enormously important. If the banner is not present, this can result in a very expensive warning. We will of course ensure that a legally compliant cookie banner appears on your website as soon as users click in.

Updates

It cannot be repeated often enough: The following applies to all of the above topics: As a website operator, be vigilant and keep up to date with crucial rule changes. The costs for permanent professional help are really low. Even the most harmless warning letter will cost you more than the corresponding legal protection over several years.

3. Step: Add customer data

Your customers, the basis for your success

Your expo depends from visitors. You will have the greatest possible success if you already know your visitors, at least by name and e-mail address in connection with the invitation. Enter your contact details in TYRIOS expo, so visitors and your Expo-team will have a personal basis for communication at the expo.
