Block email providers - protect your platform from fake accounts and unwanted email addresses
In the digital world, fake accounts and disposable email addresses are a widespread problem that can affect both data quality and trust in your platform. To protect you against this, we have implemented a new feature in TYRIOS: You can now block certain email providers to prevent the creation and use of fake accounts - and not just during registration.
What does this function do?
Fake accounts that use disposable email addresses can lead to fraudulent activities, spam and poor data quality. Especially in sensitive processes such as orders, user registrations or profile updates, it is important that the email addresses provided are valid and verifiable. With the new blocking function, TYRIOS ensures that these unwanted e-mail addresses cannot be used in user accounts.
When does the blocking function take effect?
The blocking of e-mail addresses affects several important areas in TYRIOS:
-
When registering new users: if a user attempts to register with a blocked email address, the registration is automatically blocked. This helps to prevent fake accounts right from the start.
-
For orders: Customers who wish to place an order via your system must provide a verifiable and valid email address. Disposable addresses are rejected immediately so that no orders from fake accounts can be processed.
-
When updating the user profile: If existing users update their profile manually and enter a blocked email address in the process, this will be rejected. This ensures that no invalid email addresses enter your system, even retrospectively.
Specific examples of email providers to be blocked:
Here are some well-known email providers that are often used for fake accounts or disposable addresses:
- example.com - Typical placeholder for fake accounts.
- mailinator.com - A well-known platform for temporary email addresses.
- guerrillamail.com - Offers anonymous disposable addresses that are only used for a short time.
- 10minutemail.com - Email addresses that expire after 10 minutes.
- yopmail.com - Often used for one-time and untraceable email addresses.
To which user accounts does the ban apply?
The ban on certain email addresses applies to all user accounts in TYRIOS. This means that:
- New registrations with blocked e-mail addresses are not possible.
- Orders cannot be completed with fake addresses.
- Manual profile updates block blocked email providers.
Flexible customisation of blocked email providers
The list of blocked email providers can be expanded at any time in the system settings. This allows you to remain flexible and react quickly to new providers that are used for disposable addresses.
Advantages for your company
- More secure customer base: You ensure that only genuine users and customers are active in your system.
- Less administrative work: Preventing fake accounts saves you time and resources.
- Higher data quality: Avoid incorrect or unreachable email addresses and keep your customer data clean and reliable.
TYRIOS helps you to ensure the quality of your data while keeping the user experience high. This new feature is another step towards an even more secure and trustworthy platform.
