Data protection in TYRIOS

Questions:

  • When are IP addresses stored?

Description:

In principle, TYRIOS only processes and stores personal data if it has been explicitly transmitted by the user, e.g. as part of a contact form or an order. However, there are two exceptions:

  • Storage of IP addresses
  • ShopOnTarget usage

You can find more details below.

When are IP addresses stored?

According to a judgement of the European Court of Justice, IP addresses are personal data. They must therefore be handled sensitively. TYRIOS therefore only stores this information when necessary. We store the IP, ...

  • ... as soon as the customer places an order. The processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR out of the legitimate interest in being able to identify the perpetrator in the event of possible fraud.
  • ... as soon as a registered user is active on the site. The IP address of the last access is stored in the user profile. The processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR for the legitimate interest of being able to identify possible hacker attacks - in particular the misuse of a user profile.
  • ... as soon as a user leaves a comment on the site. The processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR out of the legitimate interest in being able to identify possible hacker attacks - in particular the systematic distribution of spam and false information - and to be able to initiate appropriate countermeasures.
  • ... as soon as a system error occurs. In the event of a system error, the system automatically records the IP address of the current user, the current user input and the currently visited page and sends this data together with an error log to the site administrator. The processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR out of the legitimate interest in being able to ward off possible hacker attacks on our site or to be able to recognise unknown software errors at an early stage.

In addition, TYRIOS does not store any IP addresses.

What should I bear in mind when using ShopOnTarget?

According to the judgement of the European Court of Justice, all data is to be regarded as personal if it is theoretically possible to identify the user. This also applies to ShopOnTarget. The search and recommendation system analyses the user's surfing and purchasing behaviour. For this purpose, TYRIOS creates a unique user ID and stores it as a cookie on the user's PC. The assignment of the user ID to the user is not stored by us anywhere. It is stored exclusively on the user's PC. The user can influence the creation and thus the analysis with the browser's do-not-track settings.

For example, you can use the following text for your privacy policy (however, this does not constitute legal advice):

Use of ShopOnTarget
We use the ShopOnTarget search and recommendation system on our website. The service provides you with an error-tolerant search and ensures an optimised listing of products according to your interests. Only anonymised data is transmitted. This includes the pages you have visited, your search queries and the products you have placed in the shopping basket and purchased. In order to provide you with personalised recommendations, a unique user ID is also stored on your PC in the form of a cookie. This user ID can only be assigned to your customer account. The transfer of customer data, in particular IP addresses, is technically impossible. The generated user profile is only available on this site. A transfer to other online shops or other end devices is not technically possible due to the separation of the customer data and the user ID. The processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR from the legitimate interest in a user-friendly and customer-oriented online shop. You have the right to object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, at any time to the processing of personal data concerning you based on Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. ShopOnTarget automatically observes the do-not-track settings of your browser. This setting determines whether you allow us to analyse your surfing and purchasing behaviour on our site. You can specify the setting specifically:
