Description:

TYRIOS eCash has two different payment methods: analogue vouchers and the digital customer account. Brief classification:

🔹 Voucher = one-off value that is given away or sold.

  • Typical: paper or PDF with barcode.
  • Redeemed - then the value is (partially or fully) used up.
  • Ideal for promotions, city marketing, promotional gifts.

🔹 Digital customer card = personal credit account for your customer.

  • Works via barcode code (e.g. on a smartphone or as a plastic card).
  • Credit can be topped up and used again and again.
  • Perfect for regular customers, discounts, bonus points - long-term loyalty.

While the digital customer card is ideal for regular customers, analogue vouchers are used in many cities as a city voucher system. But how do you redeem them?

Real-time vs. submission - what's the difference?

There are two ways in which vouchers can be redeemed with TYRIOS eCash:

🟢 Redeem immediately at the terminal (real time)
➤ For shops with customer contact, e.g. in retail or catering
➤ Customer shows voucher or digital customer card - you check and redeem directly
➤ Advantage: real-time verification, direct sales, full transparency

🔵 Submit vouchers (retrospectively)
➤ For analogue processes or external voucher campaigns
➤ You collect all vouchers and submit them later as a package
➤ Advantage: Faster settlement of many vouchers, even without using a terminal

Both ways lead to the goal - and you can flexibly decide at any time which suits your business better.

Solution:

Subsequent submission (analogue vouchers)

In many cases, vouchers are not redeemed directly at the point of sale, but are collected and settled later. This is the case, for example, with

  • City marketing campaigns with paper vouchers

  • Tourism or trade fair vouchers

  • Partner programmes with voucher booklets

  • or simply in analogue shops without a terminal

Customers hand in their voucher on site, you collect it - and then hand it in later to have the amount credited to you. This is exactly why the TYRIOS eCash system has the "Submit vouchers" function.

  1. Log in to the TYRIOS partner area.
  2. Go to eCash & submit vouchers.
  3. Scan each voucher (e.g. with a barcode scanner) or enter the codes manually.

    The Enter key automatically creates a new input field so that you can quickly enter large quantities of vouchers. If your barcode scanner is set up correctly, this will also work with the scanner

  4. The system automatically checks all codes and creates a collective invoice.
  5. You will receive a clear list of all submitted vouchers - and your credit note.

You can submit as many vouchers as you like at once - ideal for weekly reviews or monthly statements.

Submitting vouchers with customer contact

The eCash terminal is your central interface for all direct transactions - ideal for shops, restaurants or events. Here you can check and redeem vouchers as soon as they are accepted.

  1. Customer shows you the voucher - e.g. as a printout or barcode on the smartphone.
  2. Open the eCash terminal in the partner area.
  3. Enter the subject and the payment amount here
  4. Then select the "Add voucher" button. Now you can enter the voucher code.

    You can accept as many vouchers as you like at the same time. you can also easily scan the code using the barcode

  5. You will immediately see the simulated transaction

    TYRIOS eCash simulates the transaction so that you can check again before booking. You can also see whether the customer still has to pay anything.
