Link shipping costs to conditions

  • How can I define country-specific shipping costs?

Description:

TYRIOS allows a very granular definition of shipping costs. Any number of different shipping costs can be offered to the customer so that they can make their own choice. However, it is often necessary to link the shipping costs to conditions. This is most often the case for the country of delivery, but also for shipping costs based on weight, quantity or other parameters.

In TYRIOS, you can define any number of conditions for each shipping option, all of which must be met if the customer is to be able to select the shipping option.

Our tip

It is advisable to store a "Collection" shipping option that does not have any conditions. This ensures that there is at least one possible shipping option.

Please note

Within the EU, you are obliged to sell to the entire EU. However, the legal situation leaves it up to you whether you also deliver to the entire EU. In case of doubt, the customer is responsible for organising delivery or collecting the item.

 

Solution:

  1. As an administrator or user with rights to edit the shipping options, go to the customer area > Order management
  2. Click on "Manage shipping options" in the "Settings" area
  3. Search for the desired shipping option and select "Edit shipping option" or create a new shipping option
  4. At the bottom of the form you will find "Restrictions"
    1. Select B2C, B2B or B2C & B2B depending on whether the shipping options should be available for corporate customers and private customers.
    2. If you want to bind the shipping option to rights, select the appropriate right

      Our tip

      With the rights restriction, you can offer special shipping options to regular or premium customers. For example, you can offer premium shops free shipping. This systematically helps you to maintain regular customers.

    3. add further conditions using the "+" button. Here you can specify, for example, that the country of delivery (delivery address country) must be Germany ("DE"). This allows you to restrict the payment method to the country of delivery, postcode, city, payment method, order value or order weight. TYRIOS not only supports equality (=) but also greater than (>, >=), less than (<, <=), unequal (!=) as well as regular expressions. You should only use the latter if you are familiar with regular expressions. If in doubt, you should ask our support team.

 

Tips and Tricks:

If you offer Click&Collect, you usually also have the payment method "Payment on collection". In this case, it is recommended that you restrict the shipping costs so that only the "collection" shipping option is possible in this case
