Description:

For many months, we have been analysing the surfing and purchasing behaviour of shop visitors with selected customers and have discovered a number of trends. Probably the most important trend is the increasing use of mobile devices. MAIA eCommerce 6.2 therefore includes many improvements for mobile users in particular, as well as optimisations in the content management system, the checkout, the rating function and, of course, the overall system. We are convinced that MAIA eCommerce 6.2 will not only make the system more intuitive to use, but will also noticeably increase conversion rates.

Significantly stronger support for mobile eCommerce

We have been recording a steady increase in mobile access among our customers for years. But how can this increasing number of mobile phone and tablet users be converted into profitable conversions? To answer this question, we have spent the last few months working intensively with selected customers to analyse and gradually improve hundreds of page impressions. The results of this analysis are now being incorporated into MAIA eCommerce 6.2:

Informative product view

More and more visitors are finding out about a product not only on their PC at home, but also increasingly on the move. A successful product presentation must therefore be convincing on the PC as well as on the tablet and mobile phone. We have therefore thoroughly revised the product view

  • High-quality product images are one of the most important elements of a good product description. Ideally, a product is shown from all sides in different application scenarios and in high quality. The customer should be able to get an impression of all relevant details.

    With version 6.2, TYRIOS is introducing a new image carousel . Thanks to the integrated sub-carousel of all available media in thumbnail size, all images are visible on all end devices without scrolling. This ensures a clear and intuitive product presentation even on mobile phones. The customer can conveniently view the product in detail.

    If several images are available, TYRIOS changes the images automatically until the first user interaction. This ensures that even inexperienced users are made aware of the behaviour of the image selection.

    TYRIOS 6.2 also extends the full-screen zoom function introduced in version 6.1. The user now has a mouse-over zoom and a full-screen zoom function available on the desktop. On tablets and mobile phones, on the other hand, customers can use the full-screen function directly.

  • High-quality product images alone are not enough to convince customers to buy an item. A meaningful, detailed and at the same time clear product description is essential. TYRIOS offers a very powerful function for this, with which products can not only be described in an emotionally appealing way, but with which a systematic detailed description is also possible as independent tabs.

    Version 6.2 further enhances this behaviour, especially for mobile devices. The responsive design automatically switches from a tabbed display with tabs to an accordion display on small screens. Product descriptions, product details and product reviews are therefore displayed much more clearly on small screens.

Customers rely heavily on category pages and landing pages, especially when searching for the right product. The clear presentation of all relevant products is therefore essential. TYRIOS 6.2 therefore relies on a fundamentally revised article display in the standard design, in which products can be clearly presented in a two-column layout even on small screens. The number of columns displayed increases automatically as the screen size increases.

The filter and sorting function has also been fundamentally revised. On desktop PCs, the possible filter settings are still clearly presented on the left-hand side, providing the user with intuitive and powerful additional navigation. On small screens, this column now disappears to give the products more space. Instead, an intuitive filter and sorting menu is displayed, which can be expanded with a single click if required. Of course, this menu takes into account the fact that navigation with a finger requires more space on touch displays. The search for the right product is now even easier and clearer on mobile devices.

Proactive order forms

The conversion rate on mobile devices is generally much lower than on desktops. One reason for this is the inconvenience of filling out the order form. On a mobile phone or tablet, it is all too easy to make a mistake when using the virtual keyboard. This discourages many potential customers from placing an order.

TYRIOS 6.2 therefore now supports the WHATWG standard for the automatic completion of web forms throughout the system. The form fields have been semantically labelled throughout the online shop so that a modern browser - especially the browsers on your mobile phone and tablet - is able to automatically fill in the name, street, city, etc. This is the top hurdle for customers when placing an order. This removes the top hurdle in mobile eCommerce. Your customer can order directly with just a few clicks.

Fully integrated content management

The content management system is a central element in TYRIOS, with which up-to-date legal texts, elaborate landing pages, appealing home pages and an informative weblog can always be realised. Seamless integration with the overall system is easily supported, not least thanks to powerful macros. With version 6.2, we are going one step further:

New general overview

Version 6.2 introduces a completely new overview function in TYRIOS. It not only displays the existing content pages more clearly, it also allows pages to be easily reorganised using drag & drop. Managing your own site has never been easier.

Completely revised editing functions

We have noticeably simplified creating and editing. From version 6.2, all meta data and the actual page content can be edited in one screen. To this end, we have completely restructured the editing page to ensure intuitive operation even for multilingual pages.

Of course, TYRIOS still supports a WYSIWYG editor for editing pages. We have further optimised the editor for this purpose. In addition to a new design, the editor now supports the direct insertion of images via the clipboard or drag & drop. The editor now also offers an auto-save function. Both enhancements are available system-wide.

Dynamic sidebars

TYRIOS supports sidebars for the first time with version 6.2. They allow additional information to be dynamically added to a CMS page:

  • convince with expertise. Display information about the author in your specialist articles and news. You can enter the necessary data manually or have it automatically read from the user profile.
  • Well-structured information makes it easier for your customers to use your site. Display subpages as an additional navigation structure.
  • Integrate your weblog and landing pages even more closely with the online shop: link your pages directly to relevant products and display them prominently in the sidebar.

Stronger social media integration

For blogs in particular, it is important to offer visitors the opportunity to easily share interesting content on their own social networks. However, it is important to ensure that personal data is not passed on without being asked, which is why TYRIOS supports the Shariff system in version 6.2. This allows you to share content in the simplest possible way - in full compliance with data protection regulations.

POS system with offer function

With version 6.1, we have integrated an innovative function into the online shop that allows you as a shop operator to create customised offers for your customers. Your customer can then conveniently accept this offer via the online shop and order directly.

TYRIOS is now also integrating this function into the POS system. This closes the artificial separation between the online shop and the brick-and-mortar shop:

  1. Advise your customers professionally in the shop as before
  2. Then conveniently create a customised offer via the checkout
  3. Print out the offer as a receipt with QR code and email the offer to the customer fully automatically at the same time (provided the contact details are stored)

With the TYRIOS online shop and checkout system, it is now possible for the first time to give your customers time to think about their purchase. It doesn't matter whether your customer decides in favour of the offer in the shop or in the online shop. The only important thing is that you impress them with your professional appearance, first-class advice and high-quality products.

Blacklist function in the comment system

For many months now, the TYRIOS online shop has offered an innovative comment system that allows you to obtain customer comments on your products and orders conveniently and fully automatically. Since the introduction of the new comment system, we have noticed a very significant increase in comments from all customers.

With version 6.2, we are expanding the system to include a blacklist function that allows you as the shop operator and your customers to set whether and which notifications should be sent for comments. All you need to do is integrate the link into the mail templates.

Extended user management with profile function

TYRIOS significantly expands the user profile in the direction of the social network. Thanks to the integrated rights system, you can now determine whether your customers can store additional profile information. This includes

  • Storage of a profile picture (via the media library)
  • Storing the company and position
  • Adding a profile text
  • Storage of social networks (Facebook, Xing, LinkedIn and more)

The profile data is automatically used in the "Author information" sidebar, among other things.

Improved error page system

TYRIOS improves the behaviour of error pages on web servers with the Apache web server. Now not only an error message is displayed in the shop design. When using our ShopOnTarget search and recommendation system, the customer will also find specific suggestions for the top sellers in your shop. As usual, these are learned fully automatically from the surfing and purchasing behaviour of your customers.
