Manage brands
Questions:
- How can I add a logo for a brand?
- How can I create a brand shop?
- How can I assign a landing page to a brand?
Description:
TYRIOS allows the corresponding brand to be stored for each article in the product management. On this basis, the system then automatically creates suitable brand shops so that all products of a brand can be found quickly and easily. The brand shop is linked for each item within the item detail view, which means that the brand shop is frequently linked as a target page through the so-called interpage linking. This increases relevance and optimises the overall page structure of your website. The brand shops are also listed in the brand overview.
TYRIOS makes it possible to present the brands better overall and also to display them more prominently in the product detail view. All you have to do is enter the brand information.
Solution:
- Click on Product management in the customer area
- Click on Manage brands / manufacturers. You will be taken to an overview of all the brand information you have already entered.
- If you want to enter new brand information for a brand, click on "New" in the menu. Otherwise, search for your desired brand in the tabular overview and select "Edit brand" in the line menu on the right. This will take you to the brand editor.
- Now enter the brand in the Name field. Make sure that the spelling is exactly the same as in the product data. The brand will be identified later based on the brand name.
- Enter a logo for the brand. This logo will be used in the brand overview, in the brand carousel and in the product detail view. Ideally, use a PNG or, even better, an SVG file for the logo. These two formats allow the use of transparent backgrounds. This way, the logo looks optimal in all environments. An SVG file has the advantage that it can be displayed in any size without any loss of quality.
- Enter a description for the brand. As soon as the description has been stored, the description is displayed as a tab for each item in the item detail view (the tab has the title "About [brand]"). On the other hand, the brand shop itself is introduced with the description.
- Optionally store a landing page URL. This landing page is then linked instead of the brand shop in the brand overview and in the product detail view. The landing page URL makes it possible to realise a separate structure for the brand shop. This is particularly useful if the brand appeals to different target groups.
- Save the brand. The changes are applied immediately.
Tips and Tricks:
When creating the brand, you should always consider who the target group of the brand description is. A customer who already knows exactly what they want usually already knows the brand - at least superficially. However, a large proportion of customers do not know exactly who is behind the brand and what the benefits are. So show your expertise
- What is special about this brand?
- Why should I buy a product from this brand?
- Who are this brand's products intended for? And who are they not for?
- How can I find my way around this brand's products? Is there a specific naming scheme? Are there sections or categories so that I as a customer can easily find the right product for me?
The latter point in particular can make it useful to use a specially created landing page instead of the standard brand shop. You can use any page here - even from the content management area. However, make sure that the customer stays on your page. A link to an external URL is possible, but rarely useful.
For more extensive brands or brands in the premium segment, it can make sense to use a contact or lead form within the description or landing page so that the customer can request advice quickly and easily. The macro functions are fully supported here.
