Manage manufacturers

Questions:

  • How do I manage my manufacturers?

Description:

Even in an online shop: "Content is king!". This not only applies to your search engine optimisation (SEO) measures. It also applies to your customers in particular. Because not every customer knows immediately what they want or what the right product is for them. Further information about a manufacturer or brand (we treat these terms synonymously in the context of TYRIOS) is therefore an essential decision-making aid.

Manage manufacturers

You can freely enter a manufacturer for each product. You can search for the manufacturer and see it prominently displayed both on overview pages and on the item detail page. In this way, you utilise the brand effect of the manufacturer and give the customer an important indication of reliability and quality (both of which are usually strongly linked to the brand).

You can also store additional information about the manufacturer in TYRIOS. This is displayed in the item description:

You do not have to enter the manufacturer information for each product, but you can store it centrally for all products of a manufacturer. To do this, click on "Product management" -> "Advanced functions" -> "Manage manufacturer information" in the user area.

Hersteller-Info verwalten

You will receive an alphabetically sorted list of all the manufacturer information already stored. You can edit, delete and, of course, add new information.

Adding manufacturer information

To enter new manufacturer information, select the "Create manufacturer info" function in the overview. You will receive a form for editing the manufacturer information:

Enter the name of the manufacturer in field (1). Make sure that the spelling of the manufacturer is exactly the same as in your products. the manufacturer information is linked via the name.

Field (2) provides you with a fully-fledged HTML editor that you can use to create a precise description of the manufacturer's benefits. In particular, show here what makes the manufacturer special, why people should buy this manufacturer's products from you and also for whom the manufacturer is less suitable.

Recommendation

We recommend that you concentrate on the essentials in the description and create an additional page in the content management system for the manufacturer. You should then link to this content management page in the description. This approach has several advantages:

  1. You don't overwhelm the customer with too general information about the manufacturer.
  2. You increase the relevance of the manufacturer within your entire shop, as the manufacturer page from the content management system is then linked from all of the manufacturer's products. The page relevance of the manufacturer is therefore quite high and you will be found better on Google in relation to the manufacturer.
  3. You can create an overview of your products in the content management system (e.g. via product streams) and explain the manufacturer's product range. This way you have also created a helpful landing page.

In field (3) you can enter the URL of the manufacturer's landing page (if available). This landing page is automatically offered in the search when the customer searches for the manufacturer (prerequisite: ShopOnTarget).

Finally, field (4) allows you to enter an image for the manufacturer. This is also used in the search.

Solution:

  • Centralize manufacturer information
Avoid entering details repeatedly by storing manufacturer information once and linking it to all relevant products via the name.

  • Use "Manage manufacturer information"
Navigate to Product Management → Advanced Functions → Manage Manufacturer Information to edit, add, or delete entries.

  • Leverage the brand effect
Display the manufacturer name prominently on product pages to help customers quickly recognize trusted brands and make informed decisions.

  • Enhance product pages with rich brand content
Use the built-in HTML editor to describe what makes the manufacturer special, building trust and improving customer engagement.

  • Connect content for better SEO
Link manufacturer information to dedicated content management pages to increase visibility in search engines and improve your shop's internal structure.
