Media selection

Questions:

  • How do I select media?

Description:

The media library can be accessed system-wide via an easy-to-use media selection. The media selection differs depending on whether several media can be stored:

Medienauswahl
Single selection: Only one media selection is offered
Mehrfache Medienauswahl
Multiple selection: As soon as a selection has been made, a new additional media selection is available

Structure and behaviour of the media selection

The structure of the media selection is the same in all cases:

  1. A preview window for the uploaded file. If it is not an image, an icon for the selected file is displayed. If no medium has been selected yet, the preview is empty.
  2. A button to upload media directly to the media library. These media are uploaded directly to the main directory of the media library due to a lack of folder selection. Alternatively to the button, you can also drag and drop a file to be uploaded directly onto the preview window (1).
  3. A button to open the media management. The media management automatically filters the possible media types and allows - depending on the function - a single or multiple selection. If a medium has already been selected, the media management automatically jumps to the corresponding folder and preselects the medium.

You can define whether and which buttons are available to the user for media selection by setting the rights.

Deleting a media selection

As soon as a media selection exists, a red "X" is also displayed. You can use this X to delete the selection at any time. However, this does not mean that the medium will be deleted from the media library. Only the selection will be deleted.

Sorting with multiple selection

If TYRIOS supports multiple selection, this can be sorted by simple drag & drop. All you have to do is select the selection with the mouse and move it to the desired position.
