Always up to dateSet up email notifications for system updates

In this article, you will learn how to enable automatic email notifications for the TYRIOS changelog. The aim is to ensure that you and your team are immediately informed of new features, improvements or important security updates, without having to check the system manually.

In this guide, you will learn how to set up a general email address for all updates and a specific address for security-related matters. This ensures that important information reaches the right people without any delay.

Configuring TYRIOS changelog notificationsAutomatisierte Updates

Never miss important system updates again. With automated notifications, you’ll receive all relevant changes to your TYRIOS installation conveniently and directly in your email inbox.

  1. Check the relevance of the changelog entries

The system works in the background for you and automatically detects new or amended entries in the changelog. This involves intelligent filtering: entries that are hidden behind an inactive feature toggle or a non-active module are consistently excluded. This ensures that you only receive information that is actually visible in your specific TYRIOS installation and relevant to your day-to-day work.

  2. Set up a general notification email address

To enable automatic sending, navigate to the TYRIOS Changelog settings screen in the system configuration. Enter the desired recipient address in the field for the notification email address. As soon as the system detects new visible entries, a summary of all changes will automatically be sent to this address as a digest email.

  3. Configure security notifications separately

Particularly sensitive information deserves its own channel. If a new entry relates to a security issue (security type), it can be sent to an additional address. To do this, fill in the field for the security notification email address on the TYRIOS Changelog settings screen. Such entries will then be sent in a separate digest email, so that important security updates do not get lost in the general flood of information.

  4. Customising email templates for notifications

You have full control over the design and tone of your communications. When you customise the general or security changelog email template, the system uses your own subject line and body text. The list of actual changelog entries is inserted into your template fully automatically via a merge process, ensuring that the administrative effort required on your part is kept to a minimum.

Tips for sharing information smoothlyImportant information regarding changelog notifications

To ensure that you and your team are always fully informed about new developments, please note the following technical details regarding the sending of notifications:

  • Registered email address: Notifications will only be sent if a valid address is stored in the settings. The internal changelog within TYRIOS remains unaffected by this and can be viewed at any time.
  • Automatic templates: If you have not created your own email templates, the system will use a translated standard template (fallback). This ensures that no information is lost.
  • Error logging: Should the email delivery fail (e.g. due to server issues), this is logged in the system. The updating of the changelog itself continues as normal, independent of this.
  • Sending logic: An email is only generated if a synchronisation run actually finds new or modified entries that are relevant to your configuration.
  • Visibility: Only entries that match your active modules and are not hidden by inactive feature toggles are sent.
