The Open Graph Protocol is now available on TYRIOS
Description:
Previously, this worked as follows in the social networks: A shared link is displayed in the respective network with a headline, post image and URL. The whole thing is generated automatically from the existing data. The author of the post previously had no opportunity to influence the design of the post. However, the visual impact of content is extremely important, especially in social networks. Users click on what they find most interesting and attractive. This determines the success of a post.
Open Graph was introduced by Facebook and allows the webmaster of a FB page to set tags on their own website. This predefines the relevant data together with a suitable photo and signals to the respective social networks which data is intended for a particular post. Functions such as creating an image carousel are also possible with Open Graph.
Even those who are less active on social networks are well advised to use Open Graph. This gives you control over which posts can be shared by third parties and in what form.
The use of Open Graph also has an indirect effect on the SEO of a website: the more often a social network post is clicked on, the greater the likelihood that it will be shared. The optimised display of social media posts that link to a website also improves the click-through rate. Social media platforms also "understand" the content of a page better using Open Graph, which means that the appropriate target group can be reached more precisely.
TYRIOS users benefit from Open Graph without any further action: the protocol is automatically displayed on CMS pages, shop categories and product pages, the customer does not have to worry about anything apart from the meta description.
So far, this protocol is supported by the social media platforms Facebook, Pinterest, Linkedin and Twitter. Open Graph is also used by Google and WhatsApp, where product results pages are already optimised accordingly. It is also foreseeable that other platforms will follow.
