eCash: Issuing Vouchers

Description:

TYRIOS eCash allows you to create vouchers in advance and issue them later. This procedure is highly recommended, especially when using digital vouchers, because it allows you to display the vouchers publicly at all sales and issuing points. As long as a voucher has not been activated, it cannot be redeemed. In this way, it is also possible to realise vouchers of a higher quality and thus more forgery-proof - e.g. vouchers in the form of a plastic card, as is possible in the stationary trade of Apple, Amazon and Co.

TYRIOS eCash supports three voucher creation modes:

  1. Method 1 creates blank vouchers. Nothing is known except the voucher code. Therefore, with this voucher method, no information is stored in TYRIOS in advance. Vouchers can only be issued individually via the eCash terminal.
  2. With method 2, vouchers are completely defined in advance and e.g. prepared by a printer. The voucher can be issued individually via the eCash terminal as well as in a mass issue.
  3. With method 3, vouchers are printed individually. The voucher can be issued individually via the eCash terminal or in bulk.

We will now discuss individual and mass issuance in detail. For mass issuance, we distinguish between issuance as an operator and issuance as a partner.

Solution:

Mass issuance as system operator

  1. As a user with extended rights, go to the Customer Area > eCash > Voucher Mass Issuance.
  2. With voucher variant 2 you can now issue entire ranges of pre-printed vouchers. To do this, enter either the consecutive number of the voucher (from, to) or the corresponding voucher codes (also from, to). TYRIOS automatically takes all vouchers in between. If the block is partially taken, you will get an error message. Only continuous blocks with the same amount of money are allowed.

With option 3, you can scan the vouchers individually using a barcode scanner and thus quickly release a large number of vouchers.
  3. As the system operator, you can determine who receives the vouchers:
    1. In the case of the points participant, the responsibility of the voucher is transferred to the partner. In addition, the partner automatically receives a corresponding clearing voucher by e-mail.
    2. As a customer or user, the responsibility of the voucher remains with you, so you are responsible for complying with the rules of the partner contract. However, the clearing voucher is created for the customer or user so that you have a clean voucher for payment.
    3. Alternatively, you can also store an anonymous customer and then only have to define the address on which the receipt is to be created.
  4. Determine whether only the transfer of the vouchers or also the activation should take place.
    1. Here you can alternatively influence the voucher text.

The form should already be familiar to you from the voucher creation, and it is. Because here you also have the possibility to activate vouchers directly (only with method 3).

Mass issue as a participating company

The voucher mass issue as a participating company is similar to the issue as a system operator. However, you cannot select the customer.

  1. As a user with extended rights, go to Customer Area > eCash > Voucher Bulk Issue
  2. With voucher variant 2 you can now issue whole ranges of pre-printed vouchers.

  3. When you click Issue, the vouchers are issued and you receive a clearing receipt. This voucher is not intended for your customer, you have to realise this via your own cash register system.

Single issue via the eCash terminal

It is possible to issue vouchers via the eCash terminal (web and mobile app version) in all variants. We describe the web app in the following.

  1. As a user with extended rights, go to the customer area > eCash > eCash terminal.
  2. The terminal opens. Click on the tab "Voucher
    eCash-Terminal zur Gutschein-Ausgabe
  3. Enter the appropriate code in the Voucher Code field. On mobile devices, an integrated barcode scanner is available when you click on the barcode button.

    Note

On iOS devices, the barcode scanner is unfortunately only available in Safari. Unfortunately, alternative browsers cannot access the camera.

  4. TYRIOS eCash checks the voucher fully automatically. If a corresponding voucher is available but not yet issued, the voucher value is automatically filled in. If the voucher does not yet exist, but you have the right to create vouchers, you can enter a free voucher value. In all other cases you will get an error message.
  5. Add more vouchers if necessary.
  6. Optionally, select a user via the user ID or name. This allows your customers to pay the value of the purchased voucher with a stock credit.
  7. Click on "Book Transaction" to complete the transaction.

You will see the transaction details on the right hand side, which are simulated at any time. This allows you to quickly see if you can use the voucher activation as you intended.

Tips und Tricks:

Enter the appropriate code in the Voucher Code field. On mobile devices, an integrated barcode scanner is available when you click on the barcode button.
