Creating Semi-Annual Turnover Coupons
Questions:
- How do I reward high-spending customers with tiered coupons?
- How is the coupon value calculated based on turnover?
- When are turnover-based coupons automatically sent?
Description:
This feature automates the issuance of loyalty coupons with values that scale according to the revenue a user or customer generated in the previous half-year. By creating clear spending targets, retailers can drive up average basket sizes and frequencies through a "self-reinforcing cycle" where rewards are returned directly to the store. The program runs on a predictable semi-annual cadence, making it a powerful tool for mid-year and New Year loyalty boosts.
Solution:
Steps to Create Semi-Annual Turnover Coupons
-
Open the TYRIOS admin panel and navigate to Turnover Coupon Settings
System -> System Settings -> System Configuration -> LoyaltyManagement → Turnover-Based Coupon Creation
-
Activate the Reward Program
Switch the “Activate turnover based coupon creation” toggle to "On" to enable the semi-annual processing.
-
Define Your Turnover Tiers
Use the on-screen controls to add rows for each spend level. For each tier, enter the “Minimum turnover” amount and the “Percentage” of that turnover that will become the coupon's value.
-
Set Coupon Validity and Mode
Choose between Gross or Net mode for turnover calculation and set the “Validity in days” to determine how long customers have to redeem their reward.
-
Select Required Contact Data
Toggle the mandatory fields in the Conditions block to ensure coupons are only sent to users with complete profiles (e.g., verified email or newsletter opt-in).
-
Customize the Notification
Ensure the Loyalty Management Turnover Based Coupon Notification template is active, as this sends the coupon code and turnover summary to the customer.
Tips and Tricks:
Pro-Tips:
-
Tier Strategy: Start with three clear tiers (e.g., €1,000, €5,000, and €10,000) to give customers achievable goals for their next reward.
-
Future-Proof Sales: Since these are coupons for future purchases, they ensure that the rewarded value is spent back at your business.
-
Traceability: Every coupon generated includes the user or customer name in the record, allowing you to easily track redemptions in your CouponData logs.
Warnings:
-
The "48-Hour" Rule: For newsletter-related coupons, the system checks registrations from the last 48 hours; however, turnover-based coupons strictly follow the Jan 1st and July 1st schedule.
-
Revenue Deductions: The system automatically subtracts credit notes from the total turnover to ensure rewards are based on actual net revenue.
-
Zero-Value Prevention: Both the turnover threshold and the percentage must be greater than zero, or the system will skip the creation for that entity.
