Shipping cost logic on the product pageAutomatic display of free delivery
This guide explains the logic TYRIOS uses to calculate delivery costs directly on the product page. It is aimed at shop owners who wish to understand how the system presents pricing information to customers. Here, you will learn how TYRIOS applies the free-delivery threshold to automatically control the display of delivery charges.
The system automatically determines whether an item has reached the defined threshold for free delivery. The user interface responds dynamically: when customers adjust quantities or switch between variants, the display is updated immediately. This means that the ‘Free delivery’ status always appears whenever the current item value meets the conditions of the standard delivery option.
Checking the free delivery threshold in the shopVersandkosten-Logik verstehen
This guide demonstrates how your shop automatically calculates delivery charges based on price thresholds and displays them directly on the product page when the shopping basket is empty. Find out how the system distinguishes between free delivery and standard delivery, so that customers are informed early on and in a transparent manner.
-
View items above the allowance limit
In your shop, open the details page for an item whose price meets or exceeds the set free-delivery threshold. For example, if the threshold is €42.02 net, select an item that costs €50.00 gross (including 19% VAT). The price information for the item will now automatically display the text ‘Free delivery’ – please ensure that the correct net value has been entered in the back office.
-
Check items below the exemption limit
Now open an item with a lower price, for example €30.00 including VAT. As this value is below the free-delivery threshold, the system displays the standard delivery charges for the standard delivery method instead (e.g. ‘€5.90 delivery charges’).
-
Adjust quantity or variant
Change the quantity directly on the product page or select a different product variant so that the total value reaches the threshold. The message in the price information will immediately change to ‘Free delivery’, without the customer having to refresh the page or add the item to their basket.
Important additional informationTips and advice on the free-of-charge limit
Please bear in mind the following technical details to ensure that the delivery benefits are displayed correctly in the shop:
- Net values and validity: The free delivery threshold is always stored as a net amount in the back office. You should also check whether the date in the ‘Valid from’ field has already been reached or exceeded.
- Inclusion threshold: If the item price is exactly equal to the threshold value, the item is already classified as eligible for free delivery.
The display in the storefront responds dynamically to the customer’s context:
- Shopping basket contents: If there are already items in the shopping basket, the message changes to ‘No additional delivery charges’ or displays the difference, as the delivery charges for the entire shopping basket are recalculated.
- Special cases: For items marked as ‘Collect only’, no delivery note appears. If the option ‘Do not automatically calculate delivery charges (B2B)’ is enabled, the system will not display a price or a ‘Free’ message.
